Pop-up Mushroom Hunt with Gill and Hock on 7th October

Pop-up Mushroom Hunt at South County Dublins newest Good Food destination, Gill and Hock. Mushroom Hunt and forage with Ireland’s premier mycophogist, Bill O’Dea and Lisa Cutliffe from Edulis Wild Foods .  Starts with an introductory talk on foraging edible wild mushrooms. Followed by a forage in a nearby forest and return to Gill and Hock to identify and eat your prey.

We are delighted to have Craig Worral of Edible Leeds joining us on the day. Craig is not only a foraging expert but he is also one of the most exciting and innovative wild food Cook/Alchemist's in the world. From Mushroon essences to vinegars and garums Craig is always pushing the boundaries of taste.  We look forward to having him share his knowledge and some of the wild tastes with us on the day.

Agenda for the day

9.30am  Meet at Gill and Hock. Tea, coffee and scones provided.
      Introduction to mushroom foraging - Bill O'Dea/Lisa Cutliffe
10.30am  Drive to foraging location - 20 minutes
12.30pm  Return to Gill and Hock
1.00pm  Lunch of G&H gourmet sandwiches and heartysoup. Identification and cooking of some of the edible wild mushrooms
2.00pm  approx Finish.

We recommend wearing good shoes/boots suitable for woodland terrain(mainly paths). Bags will be provided.

Please note that this is a small one-off event. Limited to about 10 people.  Participants will need a car to drive to the nearby foraging location.
